HABITAT MAPPING CAMERA (HabCam)
CFF's Habitat Mapping Camera (HabCam) is a non-invasive imaging system that produces high-resolution overlapping stereo images. The camera array is towed behind the vessel and is capable of covering large survey areas compared to the stationary arrays. HABCAM images can be used for habitat characterization, estimates of faunal abundance, biodiversity, species abundance, etc., and allows for the optical characterization of benthic taxa, communities and associated substrate.
