CFF teams with research partners to tag and monitor endangered leatherback turtles

CFF researchers recently completed a key portion of a multi-federal agency research and monitoring of endangered tag leatherback turtles in the Atlantic Ocean. As part of an ongoing collaborative research project to assess the abundance, movements, behavior and health status of leatherback turtles, CFF joined the Atlantic Marine Assessment Program for Protected Species with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, the Navy, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and NOAA Fisheries. The program collects data on protected species in the Atlantic Ocean to understand the potential effects of ocean energy development on these species relative to long-term climatic changes in the environment. ://www.coastalreview.org/2019/06/noaa-team-tags-13-leatherback-turtles/
