CFF Presents at the Fourth World Seabird Conference
Sharing results from Reducing Seabird Bycatch project

Coonamessett Farm Foundation's Senior Research Biologist, Liese Siemann, joined researchers from around the world this month as a virtual presenter at the fourth World Seabird Conference - hosted in Hobart, Tasmania! During the conference, Liese shared results from the project CFF is leading to test alternative baiting methods for reducing seabird bycatch in the spiny dogfish gillnet fishery.
The presentation was featured as part of a session on Fisheries Overlap and Bycatch, bringing together researchers focused on the intersection of fishing practices and seabird conservation.
Attending the conference also gave CFF a chance to engage with the latest thinking in seabird biology and fisheries bycatch research. This kind of exchange is exactly what helps shape the innovative seabird projects CFF continues to develop moving forward.
