HABITAT MAPPING CAMERA (HabCam)
Habcam

CFF's Habitat Mapping Camera (HabCam) is a non-invasive imaging system that produces high-resolution overlapping stereo images. The camera array is towed behind the vessel and is capable of covering large survey areas. HABCAM images can be used for habitat characterization and estimates of species abundance and biodiversity, giving a holistic view of benthic taxa, communities, and associated substrate. CFF conducts HabCam surveys as part of the annual sea scallop assessments.
